Settlement Question...?

I was rear-ended last July while at a stop light. I was in chiro/massage treatment for 7 months. I had to go sometimes 2-3 times per week, missed some work, had extra fuel costs. What is a fair settlement amount? They've offered $2,000 so far. Thanks

Update:

I did have x-rays taken. I am better now, treatment ended in February, but I still get pain sometimes.

    sounds good.

missing work, do you have doctor excuse stating unable to work? if not, wont consider. if so, will need proof of your wages.

chiro/massage for 7 months is a long time. a lot of companies believe 2 to 3 months max for treatment. also, 2 to 3 times per week for 1st month expected but each month thereafter the treatments should have decreased to 1 to 2 times per week to possibly 1 time per week; if same amount of treatment for 7 months, they can believe you over-treated.

fuel cost wont matter. some might, but most will not.

you might get a few dollars more if you counter offer say $2,500, but with a chiro this is sprain/strain aka whiplash and does not carry a lot of weight in value.

also, the x-rays were most likely taken by the chiro. it is standard.

    good luck

first off are you better now?two have you have any x-rays or mri done to make sure there is no disc damage like bulging or herniations do to the car wreck?think about what i am saying before you sign any check they give you because it will end any further medical you can get from them.no 2000.00 is a slap im the face and they think you will go away and if they get smart or crappy with you just tell them you are calling your lawyer and see what they say, they wont like that.it may not hurt to talk to a lawyer it should be free for the first visit.
