2nd gear popping out?

I have a 98 Honda Civic ex m/t. Recently (2-3 weeks) the car has popping out of gear, don't know what caused it and that's the only gear that does that. The car drives fine but the 2nd gear is has worsen as time goes on.

Could any one help me resolve this issue?

No your honda is "NOT" a race car, dont treat it as such. You screwed the hell out of your sychros!

Not an easy fix... Your probably looking at a rebuild or a transmission swap. Those transmission are fairly simple to rebuild in the world of transmissions and with a service manual you just may be able to replace with new/rebuilt sychros on the cheap!

You do have a sealed transmission so checking the level is not as simple as checking a dipstick but can be done by pulling the fill plug off.

It could be a list of things: synchronizers or shift fork are going out. Or it could be a fault inside the gearbox, or a tranny problem. I've even heard cars with low mileage have that problem. Did you check the Tranny fluid? If that isn't it, I'd definitely go have it checked out professionally. I have a '96 mustang gt, that pops out of 3, and won't go into reverse unless you shove it in there. I believe mine are the scynchros. Anyways, I wish you the best on getting it fixed!
