Is taking 2 birth controls pills and then another 2 birth control pills 12 hrs later the same as a 72 hr pill?
I was told that I was able to take 2 birth control pills at a certain time then again 12 hours later is the same thing as the 72 hr pill. My idiot boyfriend did not pull out last night. Ive messed up so much this month on my pills that I want to be safe and either get the 72 hr pill or figure out if what I was told is true....PLEASE HELP ASAP

No, it's not the same. Birth control suppressed ovulation, from what I understand (and I could be wrong) Plan B induces your period and flushes your system. I've never used Plan B, so thumbs down me if I am wrong. Good luck!

Taking a total of four birth control pills with in that time period is dangerous to your health. That is y they say not to duoble the dose. If you don't want to get prego then use protection, like a condom. Birth control pills are not 100% effective. I should know, my first child was concieved while I was on the depo shot and my second child was concieved while i was on the pill. My third, well that was on purpose. But still use some common sense.

If you're talking about Plan B, that's similar to the pill, but doesn't work in the same way. It's a combination of different hormones. Taking two pills, then two more a few days later probably wouldn't work. Besides--what are you gonna do down the road when its time to take your pill, and you're 4 short?? :)

No, that will not work to stop an unwanted pregnancy. You will have to go and get plan B if you dont' want to fall pregnant. Birth control does not work that way, it will not terminate a pregnancy if it has already been concieved. So to be on the safe side you should go and get plan B straight away.
and in the future, if you can't remember to take your Birth control pill on a regular basis, then you should be using a condom. I am someone who has just gone through ivf to get pregnant and It is so upsetting when people who don't want children are not careful and then terminate the poor thing because of it. Please Please Please use a condom if you can't remember to take your pill on time.

Nope. The 72 hour pill is a special combination of hormones. They are very, very hard on your body and you can only take one once every several months. Get the 72 hour pill and then don't dare screw up again over the next few months.

The morning-after pill basically is a potent dose of birth control pills -- roughly equivalent to taking 10 to 40 pills at one time, depending on the type of birth control pill. Plan B is made up of two 0.75 milligram pills of levonorgestrel.

Not the same!!! and even the 72 hour pill is not effective 100%---the longer you wait the less likely it is to work.

i take a low-ostragel or sumthing...my OByGn told me to take 4 then 4 12 hrs later similar to plan B. I think it is the same, you can ask a pharmasist. also local pregnancy centers can get the Plan B for free.

Take them all at once and you will be permanantly invulnerable to everything.
