Christians why is it that?
why do many christians seem to think that being an atheist and believing in the theory of evolution are interrelated?

@gerilyn_45 "i really wont believe in evolution, andway have you seen a monkey or ape turn to a human??"

Fear?...Ignorance?...Cause the Bible says so?
Actually I've seen humans turn into monkeys, after few drinks. Metaphorically speaking. Does that count?

Stop ******* generalizing man! Sure there's a few idiots out there. I'm a Christian and I believe in evolution. Does that mean I'm not allowed to find personal comfort in God? I don't connect atheism with evolution necessarily, but I can safely say that there's not many atheists out there that don't believe in evolution... But please don't call ALL of us ignorant based on one guy's answer.

I guess because atheist have a problem believing there is a Creator God. Who said evolution occurs over millions of years? Who was there to document that?
Who can depend on fossil records? Science is always changing its mind about things and millions of years, we can barely go back a couple thousand years with any certainty.

because superstitious fear generalizes easily
edit: @ above-"ignorance of some Christians doesn't mean Christianity has no rational basis"
no, it doesnt, and furthermore it doesnt need to as christianity is absurd from its face to its core
there is no "rational basis" to be found in a zombie worshipping, flesh eating death cult founded on a series of totally implausible events.
its magic, its voodoo, its superstition. so no, the number of christians who happen to be idiots in no way affects the rationality of christianity or any other religion
edit: rayley- so there is a debate among anthropologists regarding whether evolution is true?
my advice: more time in college, less time in that macabre children's playhouse called church

A lot of Atheists are evolutionists, but it is a hasty generalization, you have a point.
edit:
It shows the ignorance of SOME Christians, and furthermore, the ignorance of some Christians doesn't mean Christianity has no rational basis. You may believe you have other reasons to assume this, but the ignorance of any given Christian should not be one of them.

why do atheists think that being a christian or a creationist and being a yong world creationist is interrelated?

I don't believe that as I believe in evolution and am a christian.

I don't think that they are, but atheists will fall for just about anything that contradicts reality.
