Need help with the Sims 3. How do you play more than one family in the same town?

Maybe I am just being stupid, but I can't figure it out. I create a family, play it, and then when I want to go start a new family, It shows up in a brand new Sunset Valley where the previous family I made doesn't exist. Not what I thought was gonna happen! I want to create a Sunset Valley where every household was created by me. Is there something really simple I'm missing?

While you are playing your first family, go under the ... menu and choose Edit Map. There's a button there that says Change Active Household. That keeps you in the same neighborhood but allows you to play a different household.

There's probably a more direct way to do it - I just haven't had a lot of chance to play around with the game yet.

Some where below there is a button edit city. And it's that simple when you click that you will be able to make a new familly like you did the first time
