SOS - need help with virus infection on Windows Live Messenger?

Hi, I have a virus on my messenger and it keeps sending out links to sites to everyone I have on my contact list.

I keep getting messages from everyone asking why I am sending them this information and I have no control over what is being sent to who and when

I have been told that some of my friends get as many as 10 to 20 sites a day from my computer - please - how do I get rid of these viruses

Thanks in advance

You have an all too common nasty Trojan there. The combination of a good Anti-Virus and all Windows updates and patches may have prevented this problem.

I would try 2 things to see if you can get rid of the problem.

Download the free Malicious Software Removal Tool from Microsoft and scan with it from... http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?fa...

Download, Install, update and quick scan with Malwarebytes from

    http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware...

You should scan with them in safe mode.

If you don't have an Anti-Virus you can get the free Avast Home Edition from here

    http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

You only have to register to use it free.
