Has anyone else noticed how many racist comments there are on yahoo answers!!!?

People feel safe hiding behind a computer, but I'm afraid some of the things that I've read they don't just say things on computers. Racism is very real, it is just not as institutionalized as it was before the 1960's. Racism, antisemitism, anti-Muslim thinking, etc. are all very much alive and apparently in some cases in fairly young people, something I would hope would be less true today.

I have noticed it also, and it is pretty sad how ignorant people can be. I'm just really shocked that there are so many angry people around. They hate themselves so much they feel the need to try and bring other people down to make themselves feel good, and black people seem to be the targets of all the hateful comments. Not all blacks people are the same.

Racism sadly is all over the web, basically any place that lets anybody make comments there is going to be racist, genderist, etc comment, as people feel that they are not countable for what they say online or that since, people do not know who they really are they can say what ever they want

Racist people are just pathetic and i bet that half of the racists on Y!A would never be as racist in public!

Yes.I've been on here for over a year(old account was deactivated by Keisha) and yes,there are plenty of racist people on here

People are ignorant. Aren't we all human beings and should we be treated with intergrity and respect regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, etc. Its a same people can't see that. I have zero tolerance for ignorant people!

People feel comfortable speaking what they truly think and feel behind a computer. I think there will always be a few sneaky, quiet, discreet racists or just insecure people that feel powerful to hate.

You come here often then you'll see racism everyday and not just directed at black people. Many of us don't take it serious or don't even bother to respond to that nonsense.

You're new here, aren't you? I've been using Yahoo Answers for years and it's always been like this...

It's all over the internet, just more concentrated in this section.

The people who do it want a response like yours. Don't give it to them.
