Reincarnation Question?

He does not immediately reincarnate, But yes, he will have to take birth again and go through similar situation, as we all do. We live many, many lives to attain who we are today in this present life and we have many more to live to attain liberation and free ourselves from the cycle of birth and death.

There are different people who see reincarnation in different ways. Some believe that you will wait in a limbo-type area for the perfect vessel for your soul to be put into. Others think that your soul is put into the first baby to be born after the very moment that you die, and you live another life from there. Still others even think that you will not necessarily come back as a human; that your deeds in your previous life determine how you will reincarnate in your next. All of them believe, though, that you will not retain any of the memories from your previous lives.

Sadly, if the theory that you will come back based on your past deeds is correct, your friend is in for some bad times. Nearly all religions, especially ones that believe in reincarnation, frown upon suicide. Your friend is likely to come back as a bug, a slave, or something equally bad.

No one knows the true answer to that. I feel there is an afterlife and reincarnation makes sense to me. Time as we know it is a property of our universe. Where ever people go when they pass might be outside of time as we know it itself. Meaning a soul could spend time in that place reflecting on the life that had just ended, but yet be reincarnated instantly on Earth. I'm sure what I said may not make total sense to others, but makes sense to me.

Sorry about your friend. No one really knows how long it takes for rebirth. I guess it just depends upon the person being reborn. I hope your friend comes back into a better life--no disrespect--but maybe a nice house cat. Now there's a life!
