how easy is it to prove Scientologists are a cult?

Whenever I heard that question in debate (and it is debated frequently, even within the US Gvt), whether about Scientology, est, or a host of other things that appear cultist. In the comparison table, which is pretty equally balanced between "yes it is," and "no it isn't" is that the bottom line, a cult does not encourage its followers to engage in real world practices beyond solicitating new members. As Scientology practitioners are out there as doctors, lawyers, actors, and the like, that is the main criteria that gives it legitimacy. While the argument angers many people, it is no more far-fetched in believing humans are the result of alien wars that an omnipotent being creating earth and humans.

Ah, yes, but so are Satanists, you say, and are they not a cult? Again, the criteria upon, in this case, which a religion is defined. The worship of a Deity (as heinous as that Deity may appear to most). There are a few Levayan churches that enjoy the same status as any other place of worship.

So, it really isn't easy. Granted, most people think it is a cult, and while it is cultish, aren't so many other religions? Aren't Mormons cultish? Fundamentalist Christians? Muslims? Jews?

Very difficult. *Scientologists* are people, not groups. And not all Scientologists are in the church of Scientology. If you want to know if one can show that the church of Scientology is a cult, you won't have much trouble, just point to enforced disconnection, RPF and other things like that.

All religions are cults.

However, the only ones that are considered cults are the ones that are either

1. Stranger than fiction

2. Doesn't have many adherents.

Well you would have to pay me $300,000 to find out the truth, then Sign a document saying you will never tell any one then i will let you talk to a high paying actor/s put you in one of there movie to keep your mouth shut and if you say anything about it i will sue you for threatening the Scientology way of life. aha what else do you need to be proven.

How easy is it to "prove" any religion is a cult ?

One persons "cult" is another persons religion.

Anyone who will take the time to research Scientology will soon realize that fact.

I dont agree with scientology but why not just allow them to believe what they want to believe?

Just join up and try quitting. You'll see your proof right there.
