Who else is going to have their telescope out tonight?

Tonight the full moon will occult Antares and it should be worth watching.

While the moon occults stars all the time, this will be a full moon and a very bright star. Usually when the moon is full, its glare will wipe out all nearby stars, but tonight will be an exception. . .

Update:

It will be about 9PM CDT where I am at. . .

I will. If it were not for you I would have forgotten >_< been working all day. I actually can not remember the time, so I have to go look it up.

    P.S. Thanks for reminding me!

If you have a good map of the lunar landscape that points out where all of the apollo missions that have landed on the lunar surface. A good telescope with a decent lunar filter will bring great results! I have a Newtonian telescope. I will be getting a Schmitd-Cassegrain, or a Maksutov-Cassegrain next time I buy a telescope.

I might just get the Mak and plug it into my PC! (LOL) There is software that you can get for your computer to run your telescope. I have seen it!

With a 4.5 Newtonian telescope, and 6.5 mm eyepiece, 2x barlow Lens, and my lunar filter I can make at least the first apollo lunar landing.

EDIT: It looks like I won't be getting my telescope out tonight! Too many clouds! Too much wind!

I would, if I had a telescope, and if the skies weren't going to be clouded over.
