I am 52 and have dealt with this alot. First, I suggest no caffiene after 6:30pm. The best thing I have found to fall asleep is Sublingual Melatonin. One can usually find this in a health food store, 2.5mg or 5 mg. You should get sleepy before it is completely dissolved. Our bodies have melatonin but the amount declines as we age.

One can also use Benedryl or motion sickness pills. Same active ingredient in each.

    Good luck!

If you are drinking alcohol in the evening, stop it.

    No caffeine after 5PM

No TV in the bedroom. Don't eat a heavy meal in the evening.

Cool sleeping room with light covers.

Dark or nearly totally dark room.

Sometimes if you have issues on your mind, you will wake up thinking about your problems, or if you are a type "A" personality and can't quit thinking about work, your subconscious thoughts will wake you. Try a "noise" machine: there are running water discs, gentle rain, etc...

omg me too! but im young and some nights i dont go to sleep til like 12 mp! that is late for me considering i should be going sleep at 9.00. read, and if you dont feel tired after 1/2 hour, get up and do something. have hot cocoa, and then go back to bed. give it about an hour, then get up if ur not asleep. and most importantly, DO NOT LOOK AT THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it could be wrinkles that are causing you to stay up. I suggest that you make an attempt to relax and possibly drink some warm tea...No sugar. I suggest try putting some soft instrumental music. Good Luck

Perhaps you can find some useful information in a web search for "getting a sound night's sleep".
