Jewish Question about the new black female rabbi?
From the news reports she seem to be a great person, & I've never seen a lotta Jewish people being too orthodox on R&S, so I was wondering what the general opinion was? & do you think she'll be excepted?

answer: I am cheering! I especially like the comment I heard from her on the news this morning.
"I am a rabbi who happens to be African-American. I am not an African-America who happens to be a rabbi."
She'll be accepted, Jews have been at the forefront of civil rights for decades and all ethnic backgrounds are welcome in Judaism.

I think its great! I had a female friend who was a jewish rabbi, she died.I think they need to just get over it already! I think in some areas she will be accepted just fine.I think she just needs to select her area to preach in very carefully.I know nothing about Judaism! I'm not sure they even "get" to pick where they are sent.
