Will Juan Pierre reach 700 SBs before his career is over?

At 32, Juan Pierre has 442 career steals. Will he join the ten players in MLB History that have 700 stolen bases?

He's not really been an everyday player until Manny's suspension... And it soounds like once Manny is back, he's either going back to the backup role, or possibly traded. He needs to be in a lineup every single game in order for that 700 to be a possibility. Not to say he's not good, but I personally don't think he'll get there. I say he comes close to or breaks 600, but thats about it.

I say Carl Crawford has a much better chance of joining that group.

Probably not. I base that on playing time.

He would need 50 SB's per year for 5 years..that would almost get him there.

By that time he's 38. I really don't think he could manage that. About 600 he might get around that.

Yes, as long as he gets playing time. With many out for a while this is is chance to prove to the Dodgers and to other teams who might want to pick him up later that he can get on base and produce and manufacture runs.

I would hate to lose a player like Pierre. He has to be with a team that will give him his usual 162 opportunities to play like he has always done.

I say yes if he plays.

If he plays everyday, then yes, he can. But without that everyday playing time, there's no way. We'll see what shakes down when Manny comes back.

of course. he just has to keep his head down and release the hounds. Although I have a felling that if he does, he may have to be traded.
