What have you read lately that you would recommend?

I want to get a couple of books at the library for a trip. Every thing that I want is already checked out. I want to read "My Sister's Keeper", and "Prayers for Bobby". Do you have any other recommendations? I prefer not to purchase the books. thanks

The Pact by Jodi Picoult is also very good.

Some that I have recently read that I enjoyed were The BoneMan's Daughters by Ted DekKer, SnowFlower and The Secret Fan by Lisa See, The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd, Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, and Moon Called by Patricia Briggs

I just read Jodi Picoult's "Change of Heart". I was not all that interested all through the book, but I was grimly determined to finish it. The last fifty pages or so became really rather riveting and I grudgingly give the woman credit for doing her homework and carrying the project through to the end. Pretty long to slog it out, though.

Of late, I have been reading Thich Nhat Hanh, including "The Heart of the Buddha's teaching". Thich Nhat Hanh has a way of explaining things so everything makes sense, and so he sort of puts the world together like a jigsaw puzzle.

I am just finishing up "Elijah of Buxton", by Christopher Paul Curtis. It is a novel about a community of freed slaves (from the underground railroad, usually), most particularly young Elijah, learning how to be live free, in Canada.

get on line and go to booksie.com. i have the link to mine and here it is: http://www.booksie.com/romance/novel/crimsondawn/l...

there's also an excellent story called kidnapped, i dont know the author's exact name thing but i know 'emoheart' is in it somewhere.

losing malachi is about the tragic death of the main character's true love, and how she (doesn't) cope with it. kidnapped is aobut a girl who is abducted and then forced to be a pleasure slave.

    happy reading!
