Do democrats really believe that their party is against or unfavorable to big business/corporations?

I always hear that republicans are the party of big business, yet democrats receive more money from corporate donors than republicans. And republicans receive more from small business owners than democrats.

Why is this? Because big business loves big government that can rig the markets with regulations and mandates that favor big corporations. And democrats are also just as likely to dole out corporate welfare. And before you go on a rant about Bush; Bush loved big government as well, he never was a real conservative republican, nor are the majority of the statists in the GOP.

So are democrats so naive to think that their party is not in bed with big business? Even more so than the republicans.

Update:

It wasn't deregulation, it was too much government intervention into the economy and banking.

Because the left is smoke screening the truth. They have always been the big government party. They have been trying to convince everyone that Bush and his administration was for big business/government and that since they were the other party they must not be.

They have always wanted a large central government with weak state rights, and they always will.

Unfortunately I have to agree with you and would say that the Republicans and Democrats are two wings of the Corporate/War Party that continues to Vote near unanimously For continued Military Occupations and $600 Billion "Defense" budgets and gives Wall Street whatever they want. Clinton had Goldman Sachs insiders Robert Rubin and Larry Summers, Bush had Goldman Sachs insider Hank Paulson and Obama has Summers and Wall Street/Rubin/Summers protege Tim Geitner.

Ask yourself 1) Has there been ANY REGULATION of Wall Street Financial Banks?

and 2) How big of a percentage of President Obama's $750 Million Campaign Funding came from Wall Street?

I joined the Green Party in 2006 after 30 years as a Democrat.

Nader was right in 2000 when he said "Tweedle Dee Tweedle Dum."

Don't get me wrong, I Voted for Obama and he is an improvement over Bush just on attitude and political posture alone. Bush could never have given the Cairo Speech. But the Israeli Settlements will not be closing down in the West Bank and both the Democrat and Republican parties will continue to do the bidding of Wall Street not Main Street.

Edit: Great Article I just found for Left-of Center Democrats:

Why the Left Must End Its Dysfunctional Relationship with the Democratic Party

Edit #2: 'have this to say about that'-reality check: in the 1990s the Unions gave money to & endorsed the Democrats and the majority of Democrats sold them out by Voting (with the republicans) For NAFTA, the WTO and "Free Trade" with China sending Millions of Union jobs overseas.

NO ... It was deregulation not government intervention in business that brought us to this point .

Democrat and republican politicians are equally responsible for letting the greedy business people do this to the economy and the American public.

Both political parties have ties to big business. I've never heard a prominent democrat deny it.

    Ninja Rabbit, you're back! Yay!

Dems are very naive if they think big business isn't supported by their party. And it goes way way way back too.

If you closely examine our history, you'll realize that the regulatory agencies have always been used by businesses to target their competitors and that they were founded for this purpose by "far-seeing" politicians who were puppets of big business.

With the exception of the "fringe," everybody is bought and paid for by big business and/or big labor.

no, large businesses benefit from an unregulated market, because there's lots you can do with billions and no restrictions. Small businesses benefit more from a well regulated economy, because the playing field is even.

Bill Clinton was more favorable to business than any previous President, Republican or Democrat. It would be foolish to believe Obama is any less favorable.

The democrats love the big unions and reward them for voting for democrats
