Help with finding a book 2?

My teacher wrote a book with her best friend and she wont tell us what it is for fear of being judged by it but i managed to get a few things out of her. Does anyone know a book that was published in 2008, it has two authors one male one female(they are pen names hense why i dont know already) the authors are from NJ, a mostly black cover, and it is fiction. Please give me a list of books if you know of anything. And it has basically two main main characters one with a unique name and one with an average name . She gave me more info it is about teenagers and relationship problems. ugh she wont give me any more.
