What to do in Kona HI?? Honeymoon!?
We are going to Kona, HI for our Honeymoon in the middle of August. What are some great things to do there that won't break the budget? I know it's expensive, we really want to get into the local scene though and experience some awesome authentic food, clubs and fun activies all around the big island. Please help with some super fun ideas!!!

kona is fabulously funky. coffee plantations, walking beaching and pooling.
drive to the volcano park. drive to the waterfall park near hilo. i drove all the way around the island in one day. you can take separate trips. drive to kapalua. to me kona is a good base, but there is a lot to do in every direction within just a short drive.
also go to the waikaloa area to see the lava fields,

Well, for one afternoon, you could smooch with your groom in the absolutely fabulous Japanese Garden in Kona. My sisters and I spent nearly a whole day there, it was so peaceful and beautiful.
As far as other activities, we focused on going through Volcanoes National Park, up nearly to the top of a volcano and stuff like that. Cheap, but my sister is a geologist, so it was perhaps more interesting to us than someone who prefers to go clubbing.

the best thing to do on your honeymoon on a great island is to plan nothing. go with the flow and go where you want with no itinerary! besides you'll spend most of your time inside making love anyways aren't you?? come out for sunlight the last 2 days of your honeymoon!
