    Scientifically: It's the fourth dimension.

    Philosophically: It's a fleeting amorphous concept that escapes our control as it marches past in a constant and irreversible progression. In some people's perception, it is limited to the length of their own lifetime; it can be highly valued by some, yet generally wasted by others.

    Economically: Many say "Time is money" (I'm surprised nobody here has mentioned that one.) If really true, then maybe I can simply go buy an extra hour, when I need it, at any 7-11. Or, do I need to get a presciption first?

    Ask yourself the question,

    What was before the present ?

    Answer = The Past.

    What comes after the present ?

    Answer = The the future.

    So we are born out of the past

    and we die into the future.

    we use time to measure our own short lives. Out of the billions and billions of years, past and future we are each of us only here for about a century. Barely a blink in all the vastness of the universe.
