Computer takes a total of 4 GB ram dual channel, Has 4 slots, 2 for 1st channel.....2 for 2nd channel. which configuration is best. 2 x 2gb or should I put 4 X1 GB chips? I would rather have the best config than worry about using what I have. I can sell off what i dont use. In other words i have 2 X1GB now but i will buy 2 X 2GB if its best and I can sell the 1 giggers. Will it make no difference?

Typically, the size of each makes no difference. As long as they are the same speed, you can use 4 1Gb or 2 2 Gb, it really doesn't matter. And if somebody tells you otherwise, they are full of it.

it doesnt matter too much. i would recommend 2x2GB just in case if your motherboard supports more than that and you would want to switch to 64bit OS later on
