What will it take for Dale Earnhardt Jr to win a race now?

Dale Jr. has booted out his cousin as his crew chief. Now will he win or stall in about the same place he has held for over a year now. At 16 or 17 most of time, Jr. has slipped to 21st in the ratings of drivers for this year. Is he going to make it to Victory Circle this year?

Update:

I'm at the race this weekend, and the practice look good, I hope the weather holds us and the race isn't rained on.

A lot of hate, but only a few really good thoughts so far. Three days left and I will pick the best, no points for runner ups, or is tht to much like NASCAR racing?

Situation: Hopeless...I'm afraid that there are not enough crew chiefs and buses to be thrown under in all of NASCAR to make that happen.

Maybe if NASCAR gave each driver 'Get Out of Pit Stops Free' cards and a head start based on their trinket sales he might have a chance at least of a top ten finish one day.

Geez what is with all the hate towards Dale Jr? For such a nice guy he sure can bring the mean out in some people. I think he is on the right road to improving his year, it's just not as short and straight as some of us would like but it'll get us there. I have felt since last year that Tony Jr needed to go, but not because he is a bad crew chief, just that he and Dale Jr are too close to work together effectively. That brother like relationship has hurt them too much on the track and has probably spread over to their personal one as well. As long as he surrounds himself with knowledgeable people that can handle the pressure that comes with working with the most popular driver, we should start seeing some positive results pretty soon.

*But it would also help if he didn't have cars so loose that he has to turn the steering wheel completely to the right on a straightaway just to keep it between the walls.

I've been saying he needed to get rid of Tony Jr. I think JR is a good driver but has been at a disadvantage. So now if he don't improve then it's his own fault.

  • A complete staff of crew chiefs, a triple wide pit stall and 42 other drivers with food poisoning

Many people say Michigan is one of Dale Jr.'s best tracks, yet he qualified 30th. LOL. He'll stay out of wrecks and stuff and slowly improve to the top 15-top 25. Or if he is really good at this track then he may get a top 10.

A miracle. Maybe Moses will part the track and all the other drivers plummit to peril. Aside from that he will continue to be hanging out with his new drafting buddy David Gililand ind the top 30

First of all he didn't boot his cousin Rick did that

For him to win would take a 42 car wreck while he is making one of his famous pit drive-bys and all 42 of the cars to be out of the race

It's gonna take him staying out of that bar he owns, and watching tapes of Dale Sr.,

he will do what he does every week. middle of the pack.he is mediocre and thats all.his dad was one the greatest ever to get behind the wheel hands down.come on people, all of my friends that were on the bandwagon have jumped off and started cheering for other drivers and believe it or not they like kyle because he is the new intimidator.that is not my opinion, that is coming from people that used to love this guy.don't hate on me hate the nation that used to love JR.

Source(s): people i know that were once part of JR nation. their opinion not mine
