Why is it that Democrats....?

stress the popular vote when they win that, but stress the Electoral vote when they win that?

For instance, Clinton got only 46% of the popular vote but won the Electoral count. Yet, when the same thing happened to Bush, they screamed and complained and still are, refusing to acknowledge that Two or three independent recounts by Democrat leaning newspapers verified the Bush win.

The "same thing" didn't happen to Bush 2. Clinton got 43% percent of the popular vote and almost 6 million more votes than Bush 1. This was no where near as close as 2000 and there wasn't one state that decided the entire election. And the SC stopped the recount. And the Governor of the State was the candidates brother and Secretary of State Katherine Harris in charge of the vote count in Florida was a Republican Bush supporter.

We are really not "screaming and complaining" about this anymore, dude.

Personally I don't think anyone who doesn't get over 50% of the popular vote should become president. They should have a run off between the top two if no one gets a majority. And get rid of the electoral college.

To be fair and accurate -- Clinton won in 1992 and 1996. Both times he won the popular *and* the electoral votes.

In 2000, Bush won the electoral vote but lost the popular vote. That's something of an anomaly.

Very typical, like one said if they say it long enough maybe they will convince themselves and other mindless sheep. Concerning the "land slide" victory, I really do not think 3% is a land slide, what it says that a tad more than half voted for him and almost half did not.

I guess they got the voting machines fixed so idiots that could not figure out what chad to punch were ensured of voting liberal. Not to mention ACORN registering non existent people as Democrats.

Because the Bush administration derailed the Dems socialist agenda for 8 years. But now that Obama (left of Chavez and Castro) is in the White House, the hammer and sickle party is full steam ahead!

Because the popular vote we won was in Florida which had the electoral votes that won the election. We don't fuss about a fair win, it's a fixed election that we are against.

The US Supreme Court should have let the recount continue. You see, Republicans believe in state's rights. And the Florida Supreme Court decided to let the recount continue. The US Supreme Court stopped the recount. They had no business interfering with Florida's recount. They only did so because Chief Justice Reinquist wanted a Republican to win the election.
