As for Kaedan.... a nice name that he can be called instead of Kaedan. Hate the name and the spelling makes it even worse and a pain to spell. He will have to tell people how to spell it for the rest of his life. Instead he can always choose to use his first name as K. John (if it was the middle name). He will grow annoyed otherwise. Trust me. I've seen it in the past and I see it now. Choose the normal spelling, save your baby future headaches. Hope all goes well and it's a healthy baby girl.

I think if you are going to pick a less common first name then the middle name should be very common.
