When the Bible God told people to kill other people...?

... who should be held morally responsible for the murders?

Reason most often given <by God> for demanding people kill other people...

they were born in the wrong country...

How is that even remotely ok?

Update:

My apology to those who have misunderstood my question. I'm not asking for the reason why... I've read it, I know why....

as for the long winded justifications for the order of murder... defending themselves? wickedness? worshipping the wrong god?

The only people on the planet at the time that was worshipping the "right" god were the decendants of Jacob... all the rest had no idea some nomadic warring tribe was the only group that had it right?

How would they have known?

As I stated, I didn't want to know the reasons you think it was ok for god to order the murder of men, women, and children <let nothing live>...

I wanted to know who you thought should be held responsible for the murders... god or the people to did it for him?

Abraham did it because of the fact he knew God's provides: a million) there would be a resurrection and that Isaac would very definitely be a factor of that, and a pair of) Isaac replaced into the promised seed and Abraham were back and back certain of that, so Isaac would be alive in some unspecified time interior the destiny back if purely so as that he would have a newborn. via doing this, even with the undeniable fact that, Abraham confirmed that there have been human beings who knew God replaced right into a good chief who would continuously tell the reality. He proved devil a liar.

first of all the definition of murder does not apply to war in defense of a nation, in most cases.

2nd it was not God destroying "people" it was the destruction of Idolatry which causes in the long run satan worship that destroys and corrupts all flesh,

think again about the type of people that were being destroyed, they were cannibals in some parts, sodomites and beastiality-practicioners, they were burning "children" in the fires. the practice of human sacrifice still continues to this day in some countries even in the united. states. (i.e the burning man festival, the bohemian grove) so, dont say that these armies were being murdered!!!

the Israelites were at WAR and God is a warrior, the bible even declares it to be so.

people have the God given right to defend faith, family and freedom, and it sometimes comes to this. as a necessity.

Actually it really wasn't because they were from the wrong country....

    Read... Deuteronomy 9:4-6.

4"Do not say in your heart when the LORD your God has driven them out before you, 'Because of my righteousness the LORD has brought me in to possess this land,' but it is (H)because of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD is dispossessing them before you.

5"It is not for your righteousness or for the uprightness of your heart that you are going to possess their land, but it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD your God is driving them out before you, in order to confirm the oath which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

6"Know, then, it is not because of your righteousness that the LORD your God is giving you this good land to possess, for you are a stubborn people.

To allege that the God of the Bible is some sort of “monster” for ordering Israel to destroy the inhabitants of Canaan exhibits an ignorance of biblical teaching. Those inhabitants were destroyed because of their wickedness (Deuteronomy 9:4; 18:9-14). They were so evil that their Creator no longer could abide their corruption. That they had numerous opportunities to repent is evident from the prophetic books (Nineveh did repent, for example, and for a time stayed the day of destruction). Complaining about God’s order to destroy innocent children is a vain gesture when one realizes that the children were spared an even worse fate of being reared as slaves under the domination of sin. Instead of having to endure the scourge of a life of immorality and wickedness, these innocents were ushered early into the bliss of Paradise. If the male children had been allowed to mature, they most likely would have followed the pagan ways of their forefathers, and eventually would have taken vengeance on the Israelites. Killing the males not only prevented them from falling into the same abominable sins as their parents, but also kept Israel from having to battle them later.

that's not the reason he had them kill, the reason is because they were worshipping false gods or they had VERY wrong desires and they acted upon them, now this often happened to be a whole city at a time but he NEVER killed his followers.

Where are you getting your information from? I have never read in the bible where God ordered death based on Geography. In your eyes there is no God, who do you hold responsible for the death that is going on today?

God is the only one who know, for he is all wise and powerful and I don't think we will be able to judge that.
