Question About Dogs' Dreams?
Okay, I've been wondering for this for awhile. I've accepted the fact that dogs dream when they're sleeping, but what I want to know is if they're smart enough to realize that it was a dream? Or do they just wake up and think "what happened to that huge bone I was just chewing on?"

As a dogs memory is pretty short with things like that I'm quite sure they forget their dream as soon as they wake up. Most of the time humans pretty quickly forget their dreams as well. That's what is supposed to stop us from sleep walking or things like that.
On the other hand. If you startle a dog that is sleeping you could get bitten. So it must take them a few seconds to become conscious of their waking surroundings.

Well all I can tell you is that studies show that dog's brain activity during sleep is close to that of a human's. Dog's have short attention spans, so I doubt they care about what they were dreaming about. But, who will ever know? Also, puppies dream more then older dogs. Hope these facts interest you!

Wow... Tough one... The saying of dogs are intelligent depends MUCH.
I personally think dogs aren't the brightest bulb on the tree, At times they can be pretty stupid, So No... I understand people will give me thumbs down because I said dogs aren't bright, But it's the truth, Border Collie eh... I guess they are smart on other things but wouldn't be able to figure out in there dreams.
Good Question! *Wink* : )
