Can someone help me out with some DisneyWorld vacation questions?

We're thinking about going to Disney World this October and I would appreciate your answers and opinions on a few things...Thanks!! :)

Has anyone booked the "plus dining" or free dining vacation and are the meals worth it?

Are souvenirs and things affordable or overpriced like most amusement parks?

Has anyone stayed at the Pop Century resort and how was it?

Was it easy to catch transporation to and from the resort and parks?

yes the "plus dining" dining plan is definitely worth it whether you go during the free dining promotion or pay for it yourself.

they really give you A LOT of food. some much so that i usually can't finish it or when i do finish everything i am extremely full.

of course souvenir prices are inflated but it can be quite affordable depending on your budget and what you are looking to buy.

    some examples of prices are:

    -plain black mickey ears: $8

-specialty mickey ears, minnie princess hats, mickey/minnie wedding ears....: $12-$15

    -mugs: $10

    -baseball caps: $10-$15

    -t-shirts: $25

    -jackets/hoodies/sweatshirts: $48

    -key chains: $4

    -magnets: $4

    -small stuffed toy: $8

    -medium stuffed toy: $13

    -large stuffed toy: $26+

    -picture frames: $14

    -small snow globe: $20

    -meium snow globe: $40

    -large snow globe: $60

    pop century is awesome!

in my opinion its the best value resort. its the newest and the most well kept.

there are 3 pools and they all have different themes. the 50's pool is shaped like a bowling pin, the 60's pool is hippie dippie and shaped like a hippie flower, and the 90's pool is a square but it is supposed to look like the monitor to a computer. (it has a huge rubber keyboard you can walk on and play on outside of the pool.

there are huge replicas of icon from pop culture all over the resort such as a huge big wheel bike, mickey phone, a fuze ball table field, mr and mrs potatoe head, giant floppy disks, and a twister board that you can actually play twister on. (has a spinner and everything)

and the lobby is cool too. there are glass cases along the wall with different toys and electronics from all the decades.

they even have an arcade in the main building.

and the dining area is awesome too. the food is really good. and there's alot of variety. last time i went i recall getting grilled chicken alfredo, spinash calzone, chili dog. the food is soooo good.

if you get a prefered room you will stay in a building closer to the main building and the buses. if you get a standard room you will be staying in a building that is a bit farther away from the main building and buses. if you don't mind the extra 3-4 minute walk then i suggest saving the extra $13 per night that they charge you fo rthe prefered room and just pick a standard room.

its very easy to catch a bus from pop century to the parks. the buses run every 20 minutes like clock work. its very convenient and this way you can relax and just think about what you are going to do first at the parks instead of worrying where to turn. and the buses drop you off ritght by the entrance where as if you drive and use the parking lot you will have a bit of a hike to get to the entrance of the parks.

and everything is clearly labeled so you know what bus is going to water park and what bus is going to what hotel.

Source(s): been to disney world 45 times and my next trip is in august.

Wow! Indiana knows her stuff! She should be a Disney Travel Agent!

Just note that if you want to take advantage of the Free Dining, you're travel has to be completed by the 3rd of October...

I've stayed at the Pop Century too and I loved it!

No the meal dining is definitely not worth. There are so many amazing restaurants in Disney that are worth eating at which will not be on that eating plan and believe me you will regret it.

Well there are going to be overpriced. No joke about that one. But there is a discount store in Downtown Disney where they have like things that did'nt sell for less.

    No have not.

Yes but when the parks close i strongly suggest you take the monorail out of Mk.

    Hope this helps.
