disabled parent benefit?
I am a single parent with 2 children, aged 9 and 14, and I suffer from M.E. Unfortunately my condition has now deteriorated to such an extent that I have had to leave my job, and now receive benefits and DLA. My problem is that it`s getting so bad that I can`t or shouldn`t be driving, but I can`t get my children to school otherwise and there is nobody to help me.I also am finding it hard to look after them, as in cooking meals. They eat a lot of fresh fruit, but a home-cooked meal is beyond my abilities now, and I am having to give them horrible chilled ready-meals, or sandwiches etc. I`m terrified that social services might get involved, as I am a good mother and an intelligent person, and hate the thought of somebody deciding what is best for my family and I, and assuming that I`m totally incapable. I just need some help getting them to school and ensuring that they eat well, but don`t know what kind of help might be available, or how to access it. As I have DLA because I can`t cook a meal for myself etc, is there any support for them?

My brief experience with DLA as the parent of a disabled child, who also received DLA was that the service providers he got could do nothing for me and vice versa. I couldn't ask them to do the simplest thing as they said it was against the rules for them to provide service to anyone else.
