I consider myself a feminist. I believe that women should be able to have any profession, study any any field in college, and be paid the same as men for the same job. They should be able to buy a house or take out a car loan the same as any man. Having said that, I love my husband of 32 years. His 4 brothers have my admiration and respect as well as my brother and my adult son. They are all good, kind men. I think it is short sighted, a gross generalization and a huge mistake to assume that all feminists are man haters. No mature, educated person agrees with this.

Certainly there was school of thought that said things such as 'porn is the theory, rape is the practice', and that was a breif period in the 70s when many feminists tried hard to be lesbians, mostly unsuccessfully.

That has not been the case since then - most women accept that their sexual attraction to men - if that is their orientation - is natural, and therefore they want to be with men who are not incompatible with their beliefs. This is of course difficult as male feminists are vastly outnumbered by female feminists.

I think women still do want providers. So guys that can offer more than what they already have - could be money, status, social standing - I think women on some level go for protection too - so guys taller than them - really built guys. In the same way men go for young, fertile looking women.

Clearly, you've never spoken to a feminist over the course of your life, and have no idea that Andrea Dworkin speaks for less than 1 in 100 self-proclaimed feminists. Get back to us when you've gained a whit of credibility.

Grasping the truth that women are human, deserving of human rights is NOT hating men. Rejecting that women have rights is hating all women.

That is a branch called extreme feminism. There are extreme feminists in power (Such as Harriet Harmen) anda lthough they are the minority, they hold the majority of the influence and power compared to other feminists.

I am a feminist - I believe in social, economic, and political equality between the sexes and yes I have a boyfriend who adores me.

Feminists don't hate men in fact some men are pro feminist.
