what is going on with Obama here ie; is he not aware, in denial, lieing, etc?!?

Update:

here is a video regarding the secrets in U.S. history. Obama may need to watch it.

http://informationclearinghouse.info/article22857....

Update 2:

Dan: good try. however you contradicted yourself by saying balance is the key! i don't expect a 50-50 . the number of toppling democratic movements and/or supporting dictators far and i mean far exceeds helping to topple some pretty fanatical regimes. Hitler was mainly toppled by Soviet Union. i really have a hard time to think of another example! i guess the Geopolitics is opportunism and role playing. also U.S. has not made any changes in their foreign policy and just denouncing torture isn't enough and doesn't mean no one will be tortured in future. ie; congress made it illegal to give arms to Contra however we gave them arms and got paid in Cocaine! we are sending mercenaries and/or professional killers and many of them are white supremists who are professional murderers. Obama sure is in a tough situation since it takes a lot of make up to conceal the devil! if we don't accept to see our real face then we will never change anything.

Update 3:

Me Too: he is used as a reform to calm down many angry people and i am afraid he will be used to do what ie; Bush was planning to do but can get away with many moves that no one else could ie; people will accept attacking Iran! these are not mistakes. he is being opportunistic and not telling us the truth. lets put it this way; he is not a MLK,

i can give u a simple answer... check under monroe doctrine... communism has always been out of the old USSR... not only does this document tell the world to stay out of our back yard.... it has been the mechanism that we laid claim to our back yard...

    our backyard resents it...

    our backyard knows it...

    our backyard loves it...

    our backyard hates it...

it has worked this long... and wont change until obama apollogizes for it and lets them rule this country... this part is sarcasm for all u libs.

You must realize that ALL presidential candidates are pre-approved by the same overlords who control the Bilderberg Group, the CFR, the Trilateral Commission, the World Bank, the IMF, the markets, and generally the governments of developed western countries.

It matters not what they say in speeches, you will see that their actions do not deviate much from their masters' instructions. It matters not which political party they belong to, the end results will be much the same. Obama, as were Bush & Clinton before him, is just a puppet obeying orders. Probably the last US president who tried to operate independently was Kennedy - and look where that got him!

I forget who was the source of the quote, but somebody once said the Kennedy was killed "because he thought he was in charge."

So don't expect anything new from Obama. His approach may be a little more of the velvet glove disguising the iron fist, but the policies will not change.

Could it be that Obama is speaking of the America he envisions, the America he himself will preside over, rather than the U.S. A. of the past. Heaven knows...and certainly he must know...that we have not been paragons of virtue when it comes to meddling in the politics and culture of other countries. Even now, he is trying to be cautious with Iran, while the Republicans urge him to take a harsher stance.

Not long ago, Obama refused to sign a free trade agreement with Columbia, because of the conditions of the workers there. Perhaps no President can manage every action in the world, but I think Obama is trying to uphold his own ideals.

I have thought that, in some measures, he has listened to the Generals, the experts, the pundits and made a wrong move. I have also thought he is looking ahead to the next election, which may explain his reluctance to change Don't Ask Don't Tell. Overall, I think he is trying to build an America that lives up to its promise. No man is an island of perfection and even Obama is no exception, some mistakes will be made.

This is odd. I answered this question hours ago.

He seems to have moved toward the right wing very quickly. I guess than it will be the same old USA purging other countries as a way of life. This not what I hoped to see in the "change".

    Hmmm...

That wasn't the kind of opinion piece I was expecting.

But look, Obama is right. We have helped to topple some pretty fanatical regimes in the past. Hitler comes to mind. But yes, we've also propped up some tyrannical leaders. The Shah comes to mind.

It's a mixed bag there. Such is the way of things. But considering that Obama has both praised us AND acknowledged many of our mistakes, I don't think it's fair to accuse him of trying to rewrite history in our favor. He acknowledged our use of questionable interrogation practices. He acknowledged the mistake we made in Iran in 1953. He is reaching out to governments that we've had questionable relationships with in the past. How far do you want him to go? It would be unreasonable to expect him to start going around and pointing out every single mistake we've made over the last 200-something years. Balance is the key, and I think he's doing pretty well in that area. He has to be honest and humble, but also strong and unafraid to flex his muscles from time to time. If he does too much of either one, it isn't going to be very helpful. That's just the reality of geopolitics.

I think the idea is: that CIA stuff was off table... public didn't know about it...

and the public wouldn't have liked it if they knew... and would have demanded it stop... because we didn't condone torture...

but, now we were publicly supporting it...

    bit of a big difference...
