How do I mow a lawn? First time?
Ok. I have to mow the lawn for the first time today...what do I do? Do I have to use special gas? I know that it's called 2-cycle, but do I pick it up at the hardware store? I know I sound like a stupid chick, but I really appreciate your help. Thanks

No stupid questions here.
Just about every lawn mower today uses regular gas. Only some models of the Lawn Boy brand use two cycle oil anymore. Use of two cycle oil is a mix of oil and gas used instead of having oil in the engine (like a car).
Small engines like chain saws and string trimmers usually use a 2 cycle mix (anywhere from 1:25 to 1:50)
If your lawn mower has a place to put oil than it uses regular gas. Its a good idea to check the oil level before starting the engine. With most small mowers it should be full to the top. If it needs oil, use a plain SAE 30 oil.
Wearing eye and ear protection is always a good idea.
Its also a good idea to do a quick check for any debris (sticks, rocks, etc.) before mowing.

My lawnmower uses unleaded gas and I think that most lawnmowers are unleaded gas. First, make sure that your yard is free of rocks, branches, sticks and any other objects that will get sucked through the lawnmower. If you run over a big enough rock, it can break your blades. Not to mention, rocks can shoot out of your lawn mower at a very high speed and do some serious damage, if you don't use the foliage bag. To get the lawnmower started, you squeeze the two handle bars together and forcefully pull the cord. Then start at a corner and push it along the fence straight to the other side of the yard, making a row. Once at the other side of the yard, turn the mower around and start your next row. Repeat until all the grass is even. Good luck my dear, this should be enough information to get you started. I promise that it's not as hard as it seems.

i'd wager it relies upon on the family individuals. many mothers and dads supply babies job to accomplish as a manner to construct character, help out around the residing house, and to practice them for whilst they have a house of their very own. through gender roles issues like mowing the backyard are seen a mans interest, on an identical time as washing dishes, and cleansing are seen a women's jobs. So with this in techniques that's in all likelihood that families with a boy and a female that's amazingly no longer likely that the lady will mow the backyard. additionally if the daddy holds strongly the assumption of gender roles (as many individuals do, the two adult males and ladies) he won't permit his daughter mow the backyard. So particular it is not a common internet site, yet that does no longer propose something is incorrect with a female mowing the backyard

No you use the same gas you would put in your car unless you have a two cycle mower which you probably don't. Fill it up with gas check the oil in the engine with the dipstick located on the side of the engine. MAKE SURE IT SAYS FULL on the mark on the dipstick. If it is not full of oil get some 30w oil and fill your mower to the full mark on the dip stick. Pour in the same hole for the dipstick. Pour a little at a time and check. Good luck

First, you will have to mix oil with the gas otherwise you will destroy your engine.
Do not take this wrong... you need help with this, at least the first time. Mowing is not hard but you need someone to show you once - I did. There are all kind of things that can go wrong.
If you by chance do proceed please be sure to wear pantz... also back to the oil & gas, if you have bought a new mower there should be an instruction book showing how to mix the oil & Gas,,, also be sure to read the safety instrucitons - mowing is dangerous... I know of people cutting their feet, arms and legs off... no joke... good luck (consider hiring someone)
