Are you true lovers of history aware that books are being removed?

from library shelves and being replaced with subtle, but important, differences in details. In man's pursuit to understand life, history is the main subject that keeps him from re-inventing the wheel, so to speak. History is the main subject that allows us to progress in our own lives starting from where many before us left off.. Now, as my life is drawing to a close, I fear for you younger people because history is being rewritten and important parts being left out will die with my generation. Its impossible to see what is no longer there. The human mind is a great computer but spotty programming (knowledge) will produce incorrect results (thinking). Please buy, save, and make available to others, the old history books. At least the information in them.

I've seen it happen!! i read about Cicero in from the Library(made in 2000) and it left out so many key details that i read in my history teacher's book from the 50s.. I'm 17 and i swear I'm the only girl who reads history books,,but i love them, and i dont want to be told wroung from them!!! so I also tend to stick with the older books. I still read newer ones but I like to double check and make sure its the right info its telling me!!

I find that frightening. I do save my old history books though- I noticed with text books that history is constantly being re-written.

I wonder, though, if as documents become unclassified (in the States anyway) if some of the histories become closer to 'the truth'.

"Spotty" programming sounds like a bad idea.

That is why I like old books, Physical books in bindings, because tomorrow they will still say the same thing they say today--welcome to 1984-20 years late.
