Why do people in the R & S section tend to ask such silly questions and give such silly answers?

Silly answer: We do it for the lulz

Serious answer: Very few questions asked here are for the purpose of gaining knowledge. Most of the people who come to R&S have no interest in actually hearing other people's opinions. Only spouting their own.

Because of that, no one takes it seriously.

The obviously silly ones are probably intended as a diversion from the seriousness of the debating and down right bashing that can happen on here. The less silly are probably more serious than you realize for there is no such thing as a dumb question if it leads you to enlightenment.

It's because no-one can present any evidence, so the whole discussion degenerates quickly to the kindergarten level. On one side, we have those who believe, without being able to give any decent reason to convince the other side, who don't believe. And even within the ranks of either side, there's similar dissension. There's really very little to be gained, yet people take the discussion very seriously, so it necessarily degenerates into pure silliness for the most part.

Frankly, for my part, I find it very hard to take it seriously when presented with the same non-argument for the twentieth time in a day.

Petty arguments.

I tend to avoid it to and direct my attention to Philosophy.

Much more entertaining.

Plus, I never see the point in asking a question when you are so bent on turning them to your beliefs, and when the only answers you want are usually within your own religion.

Lastly, I think that seeing such a question as, "Spiritually, speaking, how to you like your coffee?", is always entertaining.

I agree... and the type of stupid and downright ignorant solutions to actual questions. Yahoo solutions is a incredibly functional web site, even however this is too undesirable plenty time must be spent filtering interior the direction of the rubbish on right here.

There is trivial amounts of information and ferocious amounts of hatred where religion is involved. I don't come here to inform the willingly ignorant. I come here to keep the ignorance from spreading to other sections.

Your question is actually a question, which makes it far superior to the typical extensive rants that are barely related to the rhetorical questions, if the ranters even bother to phrase a question.

Telling you the truth I try to tell the truth. but my mine doesn't work that fast for my to think. and what ever pop in my mind whatever I feel about the question or I get the wrong meaning of the question. I answer the best way I can and I am not perfect. and maybe silly.

There are two types of trolls. One type cannot get effects in the real world because they get hit, so they go on forums where they can cause effects and no one can punch them. These type are the cowards in life. The second type are the crazy people who want to stop you and me from communicating about Religion and Spirituality. These type are evil intentioned and simply just crazy. So, when users leave here, this makes the crazy trolls happy. The best think to do is to ignore them and report them when they say things that is not allowed on here...

Because it is fun. The silly questions are readable and if one does not want to participate there are plenty of serious questions. No one is forced to answer a question they find juvenile or silly.

Mans mortality scares him so he escapes to a place (in the mind) that he can block out the fact he is mortal. That place makes light of life.
