What is the number that is one-tenth of one-fourth of one-fifth of one-half of 12,000?

    Remember that the word "of" means multiplied by in math, so your expression is just 1/10*1/4*1/5*1/2*12,000 and that comes out to equal 30. =)

    1/10 x 1/4 x 1/5 x 1/2 x 12000

    1/400 x 12000

    12000/400

    = 30

    Just multiply it out, and you will have your answer.

    1/10 * 1/4 * 1/5 * 1/2 * 12000

    = 1/400 * 12 000

    = 1/4 * 120

    = 30

    Or you can keep dividing, and get it that way

    12000 / 10 = 1200

    1200 / 4 = 300

    300 / 5 = 60

    60 / 2 = 30

    Work it backwards:

    1/2 of 12000 = 6000

    1/5 of 6000 = 1200

    1/4 of 1200 = 300

    1/10 of 300 = 30.

    The answer is 30.
