When can you harvest rosemary?
I've never planted rosemary before; my plant is still rather small (about six inches across, four to five inches high). Can I begin now cutting off a few pieces?

Pruning is good for the plant; it makes it grow bushier and look better, and grow more vigorously. Good thing when you're talking about an herb, like rosemary, because when you prune it, you get to put what you pruned off into a delicious recipe.
However, pruning too much off of a plant will just stress it and slow its growth.
You can prune a LITTLE off, but not too much. Always be sure to leave the majority of the plant there. And be sure to let it grow back before you cut more off.

You can take a lil bit off now (remember that one I had in the window?) and it doesn't take much fresh rosemary to flavor foods anyhow!
