Well, it's a pretty long and unimaginative book.......probably a year at the most.

Each book took time in original text.

I suppose nearly 4 thousand years were the earliest writings and again in new testament times the bible has over 60-70 books recognized and more in Judiasm and Roman Catholicism.

Once the best sold in number of all books.

It took so long to translated in print as clergy had all texts. Tyndale died as protester while asking for rights to translate.

English was taken from Latin, Greek and germanic writings and languages too.

Hebrew and Aramaic and greek also. Theselanguages differed then to nopw.

Today we have the luxury of the printed word avail formerly through scrolls, stone, copper leather or papyrus.

Well according to the book "All Scripture Is Inspired by God and Beneficial" (published by Jehovah's Witnesses), Bible writing began at 1513BCE after Moses and the Israelites leave Egypt, to about 98CE when the book of Revelation was completed by John. So it took about 1600 years.

At least 4 centuries for the core ideas.

The concept of Trinity was developed in the 4th century by the Romans' Council of Nicaea. Those who think the Bible was written within short time need to read some history.

    Technically, hundreds of years.

Really, it is a collection of books, some that were written hundreds of years earlier than others.

No one really set out to write the Bible-- a lot of religious books that were a popular literary style of the time were just collected, gone through, and it was decided which would go in and which would be discarded, and how they would be organized.

No one knows how much time was spent on penning each book within the Bible. What *is* often known, is when the writing was completed (&, the time that is covered by) each book. . .

    For that^, see:

About 1500 years, or 3000 years if you include modern translations.
