  • How will those who believe tomorrow...?

...if we all die tomorrow, you will very likely find yourself in paradise while the rest of us who mock you will swim in a river of fire for eternity. That said, what will you say if nothing happens tomorrow? Will you concede that you do not understand your own faith and maybe there actually is no god? Will you be able to explain why you were wrong?

We'll all be able to see how it plays out tomorrow.

  • Creationists, in your view...?

...are those scientists who use carbon dating, foster the belief in evolution, and refute certain parts of the bible doing so because they truly believe what they say? Or do you think there is a vicious lie being perpetrated for other reasons, such as to undermine Christianity or to intentionally mislead people for other reasons? Also, do you think fossils are real and mistakenly dated, or are they man-made?

    Thanks in advance.

  • How do you know that the bible is the word of god?

If you think the Koran is the word of god, why do you believe this? If you think that Joseph Smith had plates that came directly from god, what makes you think this is true? And what do you think of the books of the other religions? Why are their books not truly the word of god?

I know this isn't a simple question, but if you have a legitimate answer to why you believe your book to be the one, real book, I'd like to understand it. Thanks in advance...

  • Those who disagree with killing Osama bin Laden...?

How do you agree with the mentality that if you don't follow Jesus, you will be condemned to an eternity of torture in a lake of fire? If killing Osama was extreme for the violence that he masterminded, what would you call being damned to hell?

  • Catholics - Where did the knowledge of saints come from?

If there is no mention of Saints in the bible, yet it seems they have been around for a very long time. If St. Michael forced Lucifer from heaven, that means saints have existed for at least as long as the devil. So, how do we know this? Where did the accounts of the saints come from? Was it solely based on the Popes, or was it written someone else first?

  • What does it mean to be transgendered?

I'm looking for the technical answer, as it seems that there is some misnomers concerning what a true transgendered people is. Not that it matters all that much, but it is nice to have an accurate idea of things.

  • Do it scare you when people refer to God...?

...as "our lord, creator, and master?" The master thing just rubs me wrong. If god is all loving, why does he have to be a master? Why is there so much judgement? If he forgives all, loves all, then why does one have to follow Jesus or some other doctrine to get into heaven? Does this honestly make sense to anyone?

People "give" themselves to god, and I'm not ever sure what they mean by that. And some folks claim god "speaks" to them. Yet, I am certain that if there was a god, he wouldn't have a human voice, or at the very least, no human would be able to withstand it. In the bible, he spoke through things like burning bushes, but these people think they are better than Moses and have god's personal endorsements. How can so many people be so sucked into these beliefs? And how can each of them be 100% convinced that their god, their holy book, their beliefs are the "one true" god and belief systems?

I guess you can't answer all of those questions, but I'll be really happy if you can answer any. Many thanks!

  • A question about human souls...?

I hear people say that people have souls and that the soul either goes to heaven or hell after death. They argue that it must be true, because energy can't be created or destroyed, only transferred. If that is the case, why don't plants and animals have souls? What happens to their energy when they die? And why is that different than what happens to humans?

  • The last two people on earth...?

People have been asking about the responsibilities of the last two people on earth, one being male, the other female. Assuming they can procreate, everyone seems to think the should in order to continue the human race. Am I the only one to disagree with this idea?

If they have children together, who has the next generation? Do the children mate with one another? Or with their parents? Is this a good way to go about continuing the human race? A bunch of inbred freaks? I can't imagine two people could repopulate a neighborhood, let alone a planet. Am I wrong?

  • Atheists - Do you know why Eskimo Joe is gone?

One too many violations? No one here with a sense of humor? I don't know. But Eskimo Joe is gone, suspended and removed from the site, and I'm not happy about it...

He asked me to pass along a final message to those who knew him, befriended him, and read his many posts. May his memory live on!

    From the Eskimo –

“Mourn not, my friends, for my voice will not be silenced so easily. Many Eskimos will rise and take my place, and our truths will be heard from the frozen tundra to the holy lands. And I’m not gone forever. No, whenever they's a fight so hungry people can’t eat, I'll be there. Whenever they's a yahoo cop beatin' up a guy, I'll be there . . . . I'll be in the way guys yell when they're mad because some fundie told ‘em they’s goin’ to hell. An'-I'll be in the way kids laugh when they're told that god loves ‘em and they finally realize there ain’t no god a’tall. And when the R & S category gets its share of folks that’s honest and true and that don’t live in fear and ignorance, the ol’ Eskimo’ll be there.”

Rest in Peace, Eskimo Joe. We will continue your work. Though your voice will be missed.
