While many people will disagree with me, the U.S. does not have a state religion. This means that while the U.S. may be predominatly Christian, religion is separate from the governent (or at least it should be). So the U.S. is in a sense alligned with the relgions of every practicioner since everyone is free to choose. Since the U.S. has Muslims, and this number is increasing rapidly, the U.S. can be considered Muslim. It can also be considered Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Universalist, Pagan, ect.

Because of the number of muslims who live in the US. We have a larger muslim population than many small muslim countries.

If you look at the statement IN CONTEXT it simply means that America has a significant number of Muslim citizens.

It has Muslims in it, so I guess you could call it that, just as you could call it a Christian country, an Atheist country, a Jewish country, etc.
