The last two people on earth...?
People have been asking about the responsibilities of the last two people on earth, one being male, the other female. Assuming they can procreate, everyone seems to think the should in order to continue the human race. Am I the only one to disagree with this idea?
If they have children together, who has the next generation? Do the children mate with one another? Or with their parents? Is this a good way to go about continuing the human race? A bunch of inbred freaks? I can't imagine two people could repopulate a neighborhood, let alone a planet. Am I wrong?

Actually, if you consciously arrange things, two individuals can be a successful breeding population. In nature, such an arrangement would never happen.
Have your initial two individuals breed until they have a minimum of five males and five females.
F2 would need to consist of at least one male and one female from each possible breeding pair in F1 (thus -- no monogamy here)
At that point, you have at least 50 individuals who, if luck was with you, have a wide spread of the source genetics (which would consist of potentially 92 distinct chromosomes). If you have each female and male have a child with two other males and females for F3, you would be able to revert back to more naturalistic means with a high chance of success in F4.
To increase the likelihood of sustainability, you should keep a core breeding population through F10 and have small F2-sized groups leave and move to sigificantly distant locations and live off the land instead of rehabilitating old abandoned human dwellings. By forcing adaptation to occur again, you will introduce necessary mutation in the source 92 chromosomes to build up the sustainability. Each F2-style colony should follow the same rules for generating F3 and F4. When they reach F10, they too should become colony-producers.

as long as there is a male and female the human race can continue
they will not be inbred freaks if they have to reproduce.
the children if they have enough will marry each other then the next generation and so on.

You're not wrong. They don't have any responsibility of procreating if they ain't comfortable. Regarding your question on children mating with one another and/or parents, I find that they don't have any option. Maybe ethically and biologically, it's wrong but what other options do they have to satiate their sexual urges. Maybe i'm wrong. And you're right that it's difficult for them to even repopulate a neighborhood.

I definitely would have to disagree with that.
I don't see why the human race is OBLIGATED to continue. We've killed off plenty of other species as it is, and there will be plenty more after us.
Eventually maybe a better "human" will evolve but it's really not the end of the world if humans don't continue on. Nature goes on without it, and is probably better off without!

ew like repopulate the earth with inbred infants who would then ought to repopulate with one yet another and so on...the inbredness and actual/psychological problems would advise initiate a clean race, no longer very human, dont you think of? the earth will preserve itself if i became into the final individual in the worldwide with my brother identity get on with my life and as quickly as I die the earth will stay to tell the story....it wont be the tip of the worldwide while human beings die out....we are no longer the bee all and end all of life in the worldwide

If there are only two people left on earth, they are the only ones with personal civil rights. The "human race" has no rights.

No, you're right. Two people can't repopulate the earth. The amount of inbreeding that'd have to take place would wipe us out.

I always thought that
I wouldn't want my kids mating together.
And worse I am not going to have a crap load of kids just to repopulate the Earth!

if it was good to god, they could eventually populate the world.
in an extreme situation, exceptions would have to be made morally
for them to repopulate. thoroughbreds are inbred freaks, too, and they win horse races. albert einstein was a freak, and he invented quantum mechanics. freak is as freak does.
