The recession will bring back reality to English football?

The recession means everyone is drawing in their horns. This includes top companies. Sponsorship will go. English football will not be awash with money, and our footballers will be paid a realistic wage,

not 50 times the amount we pay our Prime Minister. The working man can go back to paying £10 to watch football.

Is this the way things are going?

In your dreams! While extremely wealthy men own or run football clubs the money will still flow. Have you seen Chelsea or Man City tightening their belts? There will always be sponsors although they may not pay as much as in the past. Footballers are not on realistic wages and I cannot see them accepting less. Can you imagine the reaction if Terry and Lampard were asked to accept say £50,000 a week because of the recession. They know they could move elsewhere and some club would pay them what they wanted.

Gordon Brown should be sacked? so the next corrupt government can take over such as the Torrie's who stripped my town of it's main source of income? look like I will be looking for a new home. We can't go back to how we were forty years ago I am sorry - it's time to move on and instead - that includes football. Say good bye to old Britain. Say hello to the next corrupt government which will put us into a dictatorship.

It is the way it should go. Players are paid way to much and some of them get £100,000 a week maybe more and some people would have to save 5 years to get that kind of money

It could well mean the death of many clubs but I suspect the wealthier ones will go their merry way. Just think how much money will be spent this summer of transfer fees!
