How do I block access to facebook on my computer?

Yes, I want to apply a block, not get around one!

Download an internet filter. Like Cyber Patrol, Surf Watch, Net Nanny. Or use google to find others.

I would suggest a parental control software package. Several exist for performing website blocking.

I found a software product called Time's Up Website Timer from http://www.minorsolutions.com/ that will block certain websites after a specified amount of time. It works in IE and Firefox and has functionality build in to prevent being disabled. It also has functionality to operate as a website blocker to prevent viewing of adult and questionable websites. To completely block Facebook with this product, you would need to set the allowable time to zero. Many products enforce time windows for use, but few allow specifying time limits.

This product is primarily a website timer and website blocker that places surfing time limits on sites like Facebook, Runescape, Myspace, Twitter, and tons of social networking and game sites. You can configure how much time can be spent there each day.

I wanted to stop the countless wasted hours on Facebook, this did the trick.
