Does any Israeli out there actually agree with the Settlements in the West Bank?
I am not arguing whether they are legal or not, nor do I want Dandyl or Shay copying and pasting an article on why they aren't. I am asking you as an Israeli, do you agree with building more settlements, even though you know you are crushing the Palestinian dream of once having our own state?
With the continued expansion of the settlements, we know what will happen, the Palestinians will leave the West Bank, many will go to Jordan, most of the West Bank will go to Israel, Gaza will go to Egypt, our dreams will be shattered.
There must be another way?
I am expecting rude answers like: "Your dream is to push all the Jews to the sea". I won't comment on them.
@ Zoom Zoom: I gave you a thumbs up by accident, it doesn't count.

Question: I am asking you as an Israeli, do you agree with building more settlements, even though you know you are crushing the Palestinian dream of once having our own state?
Answer: 110% YES. Yasser Arafat was offered 97% of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza for a Palestinian state in 2000. He rejected the offer in favor of a second intifada.
In light of this, I truly could not care less about your dreams for a future state. The only reason Palestinian "refugees" have not been repatriated, unlike all of the world's other refugees, is to maintain the illusion that Israel is something that can be dismantled. And I add: the fact that Jews living in the West Bank is "crushing" the "Palestinian dream" of having a state is hypocritical at best.

I am Israeli, and I will answer your question. I personally have very mixed emotions about the settlements in the West Bank.
First, I don't like the settlers. I think they are radical, and a bit crazy at times. Note: i said SETTLERS not settlements.
Second, I DO have a problem with the illegal settlements. The ones where people just start building without purchasing the land and getting permits to build. But I have NO problem with the legal settlements. Meaning the ones where land is purchased and permits are attained.
As for building more settlements, I am no so much for it. As for maintaining the LEGAL settlements I am for this. not because i want Palestinians out of the west bank, but because i look at what happened after we pulled out of Gaza (gush katif).
IF we pull all Jews out of the West Bank, many Israelis (myself included) are afraid that it will turn into a terrorist hotbed like Gaza did (shooting rockets etc. and while i live out of range of the rockets from gaza, i would be in range of rockets from the west bank. not to mention they could hit tel aviv and Jerusalem...which would be awful).
I also have a problem with the fact that Palestinians in the West Bank want to remove the Jewish settlers completely in their dream Palestinian state. (Like in Gaza). I think this is unfair. The people who legally purchased land that are currently living in the west bank should be allowed to stay. 18% of our population is muslim 20% is arab. if all the jews are kicked out of the west bank, should we do the same to the arabs living in israel? like a population exchange? We would NEVER do this and you would be appalled if we did that, yet a jew free west bank is what is wanted by palestinians. i see that as hyporcritical.
so that my answer. sorry its not yes or no but yes and no...but thats how i feel about it!

Let's support the two state, Israel for Israel and the West Bank and Gaza strips for the Palestinians. The settlements should NOT be Jewish ONLY-if that is what Israel stays bent on then dismantle them and pull out or open them to Arabs and compensate the Palestinians for the stolen land. If Peace is NOT made shortly, within 2-3 years the world will pay for this indifference with WW III-NO ONE WINS. Neither side is without blame, but the Israelies bare the MAJORITY of the responsibility. It is they, whom are the invaders/occupiers/land stealers and murderers-the Palestinians are trying to protect their lives and property with home made missiles and last ditch efforts with suicide bombers. What would anyone do in this case?
David Ben Gurion (the first Israeli Prime Minister): "If I were an Arab leader, I would never sign an agreement with Israel. It is normal; we have taken their country. It is true God promised it to us, but how could that interest them? Our God is not theirs. There has been Anti - Semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault ? They see but one thing: we have come and we have stolen their country. Why would they accept that?" Quoted by Nahum Goldmann in Le Paraddoxe Juif (The Jewish Paradox), pp121.
EDIT: BlackCar,then perhaps you might enjoy it if the Israelies stole YOUR property, killed YOUR friends and family, and forced YOU out-aaaah, you say NO WAY-bet you would RETALIATE worse than the Palestinians.

If any of the dfukim on this board answer, you'll be lucky to find anyone who doesn't support the settlements (although you'll also be lucky to get a straight answer).
It's important to remember though that there are many Israeli's who do not support the settlements, such as these guys:
http://www.stoptorture.org.il/
http://www.peacenow.org.il/Site/en/homepage.asp
The Public Committee Against Torture in Israel put together a neat little video about why they oppose the settlements, including the view that they are an affront to what Judaism stands for.

If it wasn't for people like these I wouldn't think Israel had any chance of ever knowing peace.

Though you are not commenting on their legality, you still base your question on other assumptions.
For example, why would Gaza go to Egypt, in taking back the Sinai they refused to take back Gaza. Israel would love for Gaza to be taken by Egypt. In December, an Egyptian border guard shot a Palestinian trying to leave Gaza into Egypt.
Additionally, I am unconvinced that settlements are the antithesis to a Palestinian state. Do all Jews have to be evicted for statehood or do settlements have to stop growing for there to be a Palestinian state?
I am not saying that the settlements aren't harmful to Palestinians, just questioning your assumption that it crushes the chance for a state.

The *majority doesn't care, they think the settlements are justified since "God promised them all the land".
The point of the settlements is to slowly take more and more land, pushing the Palestinians out. They wouldn't want another way, since this way is achieving their goal.

I'm not Jewish or Israeli and I support the settlements. You say if the settlements continue the Palestinians will leave.I say good-bye and not so fond farewell.Do you need help packing?

In an opinion question they can't copy paste so it does not work with them. Also they need to tell the truth which is pretty hard so they prefer to keep silent.

I was checking back to see if any of them would respond. I guess they haven't got the bottle to expose their hypocrisy. No surprises then.
edit------and a few days later, I can see I was correct.
