Spiritually speaking, what freezes faster, warm/hot water or cold water?
My brother is convinced that warm/hot water freezes faster for some reason, i've also heard this in a few other places, but scientifically, i just don't see how it makes any sense, i mean, if its warm water, it takes time to cool down to the temperature of the cold water, and then even longer to freeze, where as cold water only has the second passage to go.

This is true hot water freezes faster than cold water because the molecules in the hot water are more active thus reducing the time need to convert to a frozen state.

When you look at hot water, you can see it's spirit rising up and leaving (although the filthy, immoral atheists will tell you it's just steam). Without a spirit to make the water want to stay a water (just as sheep want to stay sheep and not become goats), the water falls prey to the evils of iciness much faster than spirit filled water. So, yes, spiritually whole water freezes faster than godless hot water.

Cold water freezes faster. To freeze, the water first has to get to freezing temperature. The further it is from this at the start, the longer it takes to get there.

higgs boson has it right under some conditions warmer water can freeze faster, it has partially to do with weakening of molecular bonds in the heating process you will definetely always find that water that has been boiled then cooled to the same temperature as water which has never been boiled will freeze faster.

Cold water. He's fooling you.
Interestingly: if there's a fire it's better to throw hot water on it (rather than cold), because it evaporates faster.

Ask this in the section designated for science questions.
(I'm not allowed to talk about the 2nd law of thermodynamics or the atheists will jump all over my answer, but understanding this will aid you in evaluating and deriving an answer to your question.)

confusious say cold water freeze faster

its supposed to be which boils faster since hot water has more salt which gives it a higher boiling temp (and lower freezing) and cold water isnt softened so it has less salt in it (which means a lower boiling pint and higher freezing)
