Why did Jesus call the religious leaders of His day hypocrites for devouring widows houses?

In metaphor, the woman is the church and Christ is the husbandman.

The Scribes and Pharisees are impostor husbandmen. False religionists promising to lead people who do not claim a knowledge of God (or women without husbands/widows) to heaven. They take these people's money to support themselves and in return say a long prayer or preach to them some scripture which these people could have read for themselves. The false husbands (pretenders) lead the people away from the true God and a true understanding of scripture. They take authority upon themselves when none was rightly given them of God.

Therefore, their damnation is greater than those under them or those that follow them.

I believe this may be an question to ones faith. widows being one that was married, but now not husband or men of the faith according to scripture there is only one faith so if you change you're dead, may be men went astry more often than women did.

I think "devouring women's houses" meant taking their money for which they would get a blessing or a prayer. Jesus was saying why are you preying on the weak and needy?!

forbid their disciples to help there own mothers and fathers and poor for personal gain and like the church to day wanted all the tithe and what the poor had

but gods law is clear to help the fatherless poor and widow and do not forsake the levite they forsook this commandment and so has the church Honor your mother and father

He's pretty much saying some of the preachers then were hypocrites... Taking advantage of people and trying to make it seem righteous.
