Which do you like better, the WC62, WC52 or WC51.?
Assume that you want to drive it to the battle.
I know that this is not a hunting question, but if I put it into cars, all I will hear is crickets. At least there are people in this forum that know what I am asking.
The reason I ask is that I have a line on a real clean one, perhaps just back from Denmark for $16,000.
The one in question is a WC62.

I would take the WC62 if nothing else for the looks you will get as you drive it down the street. They are a little underpowered for their weight, and so don't move quite as well as the 52 or 53. The nice thing is how much junk you can stuff into that bed.
I would mount a 1919A4 between the driver and passenger, and look into a propane 50 on a pedestal mount. Still lots of room for all the guys and their gear as you chase the nasty Hun around the field.
The 16K price is good if the beastie is clean. I just saw one going for 18K that had just come back from Denmark, it looked like new.

That's a tough question. What are you carrying into battle? If it's just you and some passengers, I'd go for the WC52 with the winch (handy for pulling yourself out of mud). If you've got a big load, like ammunition, the WC62 would be the ticket because of its greater capacity. It has a winch, too.
If it's really just a question of which I like better, it would be the WC52.
And to the fellow who answered an "M1 tank," the Dodge was so dependable that returning GIs asked Dodge to make a civilian version which they did in 1946. The Dodge Power Wagon, the first factory-built 4WD pickup offered to the public, remained in production until 1970 and they all looked like the WC-series trucks from WW2.
As far as the relation to hunting goes, a lot of surplus WCs were sold to hunters after the demobilization.

Please refresh my memory. Which vehicle is which?
EDIT: Yes, but is this vehicle the 3/4 ton weapons carrier, the ambulance, the command car, or the 1-1/2 ton truck?
Since someone mentioned the M-1 tank, I just wanted to add that Chrysler Corporation was the original contractor for building them.
