Xenu is something L. Ron Hubbard made up while he was still an alcoholic. The Xenu story is supposed to be secret until you reach the upper levels of Scientology but the flow of information over the internet has proven impossible to control.

What do you call someone whose religion is science fiction? I don't know. However cult is the right description.

All religions and philosophies try to change reality. And many very old and venerable religions include "Science fiction" in their belief sets. There is no group called "Scientology". "Scientology" is a topic, a philosophy, a methodology. There is a cult called The church of Scientology, though. A good description I saw once was "therapy cult".

    L. Ron Hubbard wrote a self help book which was later interpreted as a religion. Personally I have no interest in it, but it seemed to do some good for people.

ALL religions are cults, it's just a matter of degrees.
