USA Mens team: Lets talk Brian Ching.?

With the arrival of Charlie Davies as a force to be reckon with on this Mens national team. The Question is Does Ching Still have his starting spot on the Mens national team. Also does Ching need to have a big gold cup to solidify himself as the top strike choice for Bob Bradley?

The same also goes for Frankie Hedjuk with spector playing well

Update:

we will face Mexico in the gold cup final if they can get their

I dont thing Ching is going to have the starting position come next year in the world cup... Bradley seems to like to go to Altidore and Davies and if thats is not working out he moves dempsey up front who has played great recently when he is moved up

If Ching wants to get playing time he really needs to prove himself against some mediocre teams in the gold cup

I asked pretty much the same question about a week ago: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AksWV...

The Gold Cup will not solidify anyone's chances at making a starting appearance during qualifying, as no good CONCACAF team is bringing their first team. They would have to go above and beyond to even get a call-up. What Ching will really have to do is have a good game against Mexico on August 12th, that is if Bradley even include him. I really like Ching, but I think his spot is in real danger if Charlie Davies continues to produce goals. His is kind of a different niche than Charlie Davies in that he is a free kick-producer and Davies is like a scrappy player getting goals. We'll have to wait and see what Bob Bradley does in August.

For the defensive position in general, I think the US have finally found some competition where there previously was none. Don't get me wrong: the 2 central positions and the right should be solidified with Gooch, Demerit, and Bocanegra, but that left back position will be one battle to watch. Spector and Hejduk both deserve the spot, but I think Hejduk will get it just because he's a harder worker. I "frankly" love Hejduk because of just that, he works hard game in, game out no matter what, and I can't wait to see him back in the lineup. He may be a little old, but he's still good enough to take that left back position.

The picks I think Bradley will make: Ching and Hejduk

because: if you saw the Confed Cup you'll of course realize that Bradley takes experience over promise every time. He didn't put Torres or Adu in (not they should've been), even after everyone was calling for one of them to start as a partner to Bradley. He only put Charlie Davies in because he didn't have Brian Ching. We wouldn't even have this mess if Ching and Hejduk hadn't gotten injured, imo.

I think that Ching needs to have a great Gold Cup, He needs to net at least 4 goals n i think he will just look at the oppostion.

Also Frankie will jsut join out D an make it even better. THis a good sign that we have to many players because one of our problems in the Brazil game was depth.

If Frankie Starts the Spector will be a good solid sub, an same with davies.

I think davies has the starting job for now.if ching has a great gold cup he will be looked at as a good option or substitution.

I hear davies is getting interest from clubs in France,Holland, and Germany.if davies moves to a good club in any of these leagues he will no doubt inspire more confidence in bob bradley.

frankie is a great leader.he motivates players around him and I think he will still get playing time here and there but spector seems to have earned the starting spot.spector plays in a great club in the EPL.west ham united.he may well become a starter in west ham now and the competition he will face week in and week out give him a distinct advantage over hejduk.

Heyduk is in. Ching will have a spot somewhere.

The guy who is 100% out and will never return is Demarcus. Altidore kind of took Chings spot and Davies took Beasly's spot on the left. Man Davies looked goo over their.

Source(s): \/ no,no no....For one thing Casey comes off the bench for another, he is one of the few physical up front guys the US has. If anything Id like to see him MORE in the line up. The problem is I don't know where. I want to see the US win some more of the balls in the air. PS Onyewu was a beast this whole tourney. He played up to his capabilities for a change.

it seems like when the important matches come up, they want to use overseas players (and donovan). is davies better than ching? hard to say- but it seems to me he is higher on the national team pecking order anyway, simply because he doesnt play in the MLS. i personally think this is BS, but i completely expect davies to beat out ching and spector to beat out hedjuk based only on the club the play for. right or wrong, the philosophy of bradley seems to be minor tournaments like gold cup seem to be for MLS players and major tournaments like confederations and world cup are for euro-league players.

Frankie has a spot. Ching should replace Conor Casey. I don't think Casey's style fits the international game.

In the Gold Cup, it'll answer that question. I think whoever scores more goals between them two, should start. Hejduk should replace Spector. Hejduk to me, is an undisputed starter. Another question should be will Ricardo Clark or Michael Bradley be benched for Jermaine Jones?

Bradley Look at the replay of the USA vs Mexico game in Azteca. He leaves Sabah in order to play golie alongside Howard, he left Sabah open. Bradley is worthless.

battle positions is always going on.

you see how quick beas has gone.

i think hejduk has his spot locked until the wc of south africa.

i wouldnt want to be the one making that decision between daivies and ching. but i would go with ching since he has the experience.
