How do you clean dirt residue off of a Tie?

I recently bought a used tie and although in very good condition I can't help but notice that there is a very slight dirt stain on a part of it.

As if you take dried powdered dirt sprinkled some off your tie, then wiped it off.

So the stain is there, a little hard to see, but there.

Any advice how to clean it?

Mild shampoo and rub gently with your fingertips, rinse, lay flat on a towel, blot with a towel. allow to dry flat on the towel. Iron with the lowest temperature that can possibly work once the tie is dry.

hi..i would try hand cleaner like mechanics use. rub it on, let sit for a half hour and wash as usual or wipe with a damp cloth. works for me every time for all kinds of stains..including grease and rust.

I'd just take it to the dry cleaner
