Randomly Noisy XBox 360?
From time to time my Xbox 360 will make an annoying whirring/crackling noise. For weeks or months at a time it will run silently; then, suddenly it'll begin to make those loud noises whenever it runs. After a few days or weeks the noise will mysteriously stop and it'll run silently for a few months before the cycle starts over.
It doesn't seem to effect the performance of the console, but it is bloody annoying. Any idea what is going on and how I could fix it?

I think i know the problem. if your xbox is standing upright it sometimes makes asound. that usually means its scratching the disk so i would make it so it sits how it should....if thats not the problem then im sorry but i dont know what else it could be

its just the hard disk/disc/CPU working, sometimes its working really hard on things and it makes that sound. even when your not doing anything particularly stressful on the system it would probably be working on something system-related in the background.
