When I floor my gas pedal, a cloud of "dirty" smoke comes from the tailpipe?
2001 Chrysler Concorde 2.7L
I know these engines have a "sludge" problem, but I have been using Mobil 1 Full Synthetic for the past 10k miles now. It's cleaned the engine out pretty good, but every once in a while when I floor the gas a cloud of dirty smoke (not white or black) comes out of the tailpipe. This only occasionally happens. The engine runs and drives like brand new (100k miles) Is this random cloud of dirty smoke anything to worry about or just the engine "cleaning" itself out when I floor it?

Get rid of it before that engine does lock up. You are on the right track about the sludge problem on the 2.7L. The first clue is the oil light will flash while stopped with a hot engine. Then its a ticking time bomb from there.
As for the dirty smoke it usually caused by too much fuel for the engine to burn. The smoke is dark but not black or your blowing out the exhaust system debris like carbon. But it never cleans the engine by flooring it. You could be burning alittle oil too but its usually blue tint in color.

When you floor it, a lot of fuel is dumped into the cylinders. What you are seeing is probably a quick over-rich situation as the excess fuel gets burned off. As long as its not black smoke pouring out the tailpipe, its ok.
Try not to beat the **** out of the car too much, ok? It's a grandma car, not a sports car.

1st off, Mobile 1 is good oil, but it cleans the internal engine, and should not blow out the tailpipe. If it does, you need serious engine repair.
2nd, condensation builds up in the muffler, inside the muffler is black from exhaust waste, when the condensation mixes with the soot inside the muffler, and you rev your engine, the pressure blows out the contaminated water, this is normal.
Should your car blow out excessive white sweet smelling smoke, you have a bad head gasket or cracked cylinder head, or both.
Should it blow out blue smoke, its consuming oil, probably bad piston rings, valve seals or both.
Should it blow black smoke, its running too rich. Bad oxygen sensor or leaking injectors, or both.
Hope this helps you out.

My only guess would be that your car is probably not warmed up. when you start your car in the morning in cold weather, there will be plenty of steam.
