1. In 1993 my Midget team went over there and played there pro teams, and as much as we got slaughtered it was miles away from NHL caliber, and I do not believe it has stepped up since.
2.Broten or O'Callahan both ended up being solid Devils.
3.Devils of course.
4.Parise
5.Zack
6.Mike Richter
7. #1 in my house.
8. Jim Dowd was from my county in NJ, and George Parros played for the team my HS beat for the state title.
9.http://inlinethumb21.webshots.com/44500/2242643580... I'll go with the vintage one.
10.BBQ Beer & Bud, kinda just like every other weekend, except with more fireworks.

1) Field Hockey might, ice hockey probably never in England. It doesn't do too bad in Northern Ireland though.
2) Not a player, but the coach Herb Brooks will always be one of my favourite people in hockey.
3) Colorado Avalanche
4) I don't even think Ottawa has more than one or two Americans, I guess Foligno is the best, he was born in Buffalo when his Dad played there I think.
5) Shawn McEachern
6) Mike Richter
7) I'd say somewhere outside of the top 5, baseball, football, basketball, NASCAR and golf would all be ahead of it for sure.
8) I'm Canadian, I live close to Maine and Rick Dipietro is probably the best player every from that state (that I can think of off the top of my head at least).
9) I actually like the current ones best, the original ones were great too though. The one with the Capital Building on it was just terrible.
10) On Canada Day I watched NHL Free Agent Frenzy on TSN2 most of the afternoon because I was sick. Then I went to fireworks in the evening.
And happy late Independence Day to all the Americans on here.

1. No, not when soccer dominates.
2. I'll go with Brooks. I wasn't even born then.
3. Leafs have plenty of American players now, so I'll go with...Komisarek because I don't want to think too hard.
4. We'll find out this season.
5. Brian Leetch was a rental for the Leafs at one point.
6. Mike Richter.
7. Quasi-officially, 8th. But then again, psuedo-sports like baseball and NASCAR take up most of the top 10.
8. Nobody in Toronto.
9. The current one. It's a good rendition/upgrade from the original, especially with the blood red. The one before was pretty bad. On a side note, the Blue Jackets' is the most patriotic with their civil war theme.
10. Unfortunately, I was forced to work hard for somebody else on both days.

Thanks, and a happy FOJ to you too.
1. America gained its indepence from England. Do you think hockey will ever catch on over there?
A) In my lifetime, perhaps it will achieve the level of popularity that soccer now has here in America.
2. Who is/was your favorite player from the US 1980 Olympic team?
A) The goaltender, Jim Craig.
3. What is your favorite NHL team that is based in America?
A) I don't have one. I'm just a fan of hockey now.
4. Who is the best American player currently on your favorite team?
A) n/a
5. Who is/was the all time best American player to play on your favorite team?
A) On my former team it was Mark Howe.
6. Who was the best American goaltender to ever play the game at the NHL level?
A) Jim Craig. (ADD: I forgot about Mike Richter, sorry Jim.)
7. Football and baseball are probably America's "favorite sport" but where would you say hockey ranks?
A) 5th.
8. If you were live in the US who is/was the best hockey player to come from your city. (If none just say none, if you are a Canadian resident just put a "-" symbol)
A) I forget his name but he came up only a few years ago, the first Philadelphia kid to make the bigs.
9. The Washington Capitals, being in the country's capital, always seems to be the most patriotic. Which all time Capitals jersey is your favorite? (Please provide a link to a picture of the jersey)
A) Sorry, I don't like to provide links but I really liked their blue, black, and gold colored ones except for the downward-facing eagle. I'd have preferred they switched places with the shoulder patch and the Capitol Building be the main logo. But they did a really nice job with the latest ones.
10. (This one won't be about hockey) What did you do today/will do today to celebrate the 4th of July? (For Canadians: What did you do on July 1st to celebrate Canada Day?)
A) I hung Old Glory, turned to face it with my right hand on my chest and recited "The Pledge Of Allegiance" as I admired it against the beautiful blue and white skies we are having today. I particularly don't like to travel anywhere on holidays.

1. They have the Elite Ice Hockey Pro League, the Premier Senior Ice Hockey League, and the English National Ice hockey league( amatuer), all administered by the English Ice Hockey Association, so it has a good start. Plus they seem to love the NHL games when played there.
2. Ken Morrow. An Olympic Gold medal and a Stanley Cup with the Islanders within months. Gotta love it
3. NY Islanders
4. Doug Weight for his career, but Kyle Okposo is currently the best. Hard to chose a goalie that hasn't played in almost two seasons
5. Pat LaFontaine
6. Tom Barrasso
7. In reality, it ranks 4th, but is moving up on the "every 24 seconds, 10 players jump in the air" league
8. Joey Mullen
9. 1985 version.
Won't let me copy/paste....but you can either click on team link on left or 1985-86 season on right side of the page
10. Took my son to a parade this morning, then BBQ some Filet Mignons and Burgers for dinner.

7. I would say either 3rd or 4th. I think it just might beat basketball or if not now in the near future it will!

1) There is hockey over there but, It ranks very much below sports such as football ( soccer). I don't think it will be a number one sport there . The best we could hope for would be number two .
2)Eruzione
3)The Florida panthers
4)on the roster as of right this minute it would be Clemmensen
5)Vanbiesbrouck
6)Vanbiesbrouck = 882 games played ,374 wins , 346 losses , 2.98 GAA ,.899 SVPCT, 40 SO
7)Right this second I would say hockey is 5th behind NASCAR and just barely behind basketball
8)none
9)I liked this one

1. I... Don't have a clue. It seems to be fairly popular, relatively speaking, though. One of my best friends is English and they had the Stanley Cup Finals on TV last week, he said.
2. Jim Craig.
3. Columbus Blue Jackets.
4. R.J. Umberger.
5. .. I don't think there's anybody before last year that doesn't blow... So, I guess that'd be R.J. Umberger again.
6. Somehow, I can't think of any American goalies... Too tired. <_<
7. Sadly, after basketball.
8. Nobody, as far as I know, has come from my hometown and made it in the NHL.
9. I like the current home.
10. I'm going to indulge my suppressed 14-year-old pyromaniac and light off some fireworks.
