During the interview the Sergeant looks at you straight in the eye with a mean look and says, "Why suddenly the career change?"

What would you say?

Most local police agencies wouldn't hire someone above the age of 37 with no prior law enforcement experience. But let's pretend they would: I would answer something to the effect of: I'm tired of doing (whatever I had been doing previously) and felt like I was spinning my wheels. I've been having a hard time finding my stride in my old profession due to it's dull monotonous grind. I'm looking for a career where I can invest the next fifteen or so years doing something where every day will bring me a new challenge. I want to help make an impact on my community, as it has made an impact on me over these years, and what better way to show my community pride than serving as a police offcer here?
